What is Cloud Mining?

Cloud Mining automagically builds cool faceted search interfaces for your data. Simply get your data in a specific format, provide a custom look and feel for each search result and Cloud Mining does the rest.

At the moment Cloud Mining is still in private beta but below are two demos you can play with and provide feedback for.

Cloud Mining on The Internet Movie Database (IMDb):

The Internet Movie Database or IMDb has grown into the most complete online resource of movies, actors and like. This instance of Cloud Mining runs on the full data they provide plus a bit of scraping. Some work was needed to get their data into a format Cloud Mining understands but once that process was done, we got a search engine and a search interface for free.

Try some queries (all results are sorted by IMDb user rating and relevance):

• Search for all movies with Brad Pitt.
• Search for all animation and cartoons.
• Search for all movies directed by Quentin Tarantino.

Cloud Mining on the Digital Bibliography & Library Project (DBLP):

The Digital Bibliography & Library Project or (DBLP) is a probably the most complete online computer science bibliography resource. It currently lists over 1.3 million articles. Some work was needed to transform their data for Cloud Mining. The citation counts were obtained thanks to CiteSeerX.

Try some queries (all results are sorted by number of citations):

• Search for all papers with title "bayesian inference".
• Search for all NIPS papers.
• Search for all papers by Jon Kleinberg.

Cloud Mining is early development but here is what's in the pipeline:

• New views for facets such as hierarchies, top keywords or pies and network graphs.
• Order by any attributes and custom ranking functions.
• Introducing views into search results such as grid.
• Show recent user's search queries.
• Make it social, rate and comment search results.
• Recommendation engine from likes and dislikes of search results.
• Spell checker and highlighting.
